The Gin Kings vented their ire on hapless Kia, scoring a dominant 103-77 victory in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup Wednesday at the MOA Arena.

Coming in losing four of its last five games, Ginebra wasted little time in establishing its superiority, unloading a 28-10 bomb in the second quarter to take full control of the game. The Gin Kings simply cruised in the second half with the fourth period essentially being 12 minutes of garbage time.

Improving to 4-4 in the standings, head coach Tim Cone is hoping that this big win could spark Ginebra's struggling campaign in the All-Filipino.

"It's been such a struggle for us this conference. It's nice to be able to get a win," he said.

"We played a complete game and was able to pull away. It was really a struggle for us but it might be the game that helps us turn around," Cone added.

Five players scored in double figures for the Gin Kings led by Greg Slaughter with 14 points, 10 in the opening period.

LA Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar scored 13 apiece while Scottie Thompson flirted wit ha triple-double, going for 12 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists.

After a competitive first quarter, Ginebra flipped the switch in the second, scoring 13 straight points to open up a 48-31 lead.

The Gin Kings led by as many as 29 in the third, 82-53, before taking a little step back in the fourth.

As for Kia, the team has now lost three straight for a 1-7 record.

Rashawn McCarthy led the way for the Picanto with 15 points while Ronald Tubid fired 13.
