Blatche back in the country to join Gilas Pilipinas
Talking at SportsCenter Philippines Saturday, Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes confirmed that naturalized center Andray Blatche arrived in the country Friday night, making him available for the national team's February games in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Reinforcement has arrived for Gilas Pilipinas.

Talking at SportsCenter Philippines Saturday, Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes confirmed that naturalized center Andray Blatche arrived in the country Friday night, making him available for the national team's February games in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Reyes also confirmed that Blatche is in top shape as the former Brooklyn Net has been playing for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association over the last couple of monhts.

Chot added that Blatche will go through some workouts Sunday and Andray will participate in full practice by Monday.

However, per Yo Sarmenta of ESPN 5, Blatche already put in some work Saturday evening at the Meralco gym.

Gilas Pilipinas is set to resume Group B first round action against Australia on the road on Feb. 22. Three days later, the Philippines will host Japan at the MOA Arena.

Gilas has a 2-0 record in the first round so far after beating Japan on the road and Chinese Taipei at home last November.
