Kiefer vs. Jeron keeps the Ateneo-La Salle rivalry burning
Sunday marked the first pro meeting of Kiefer Ravena, the former King Eagle, and Jeron Teng, the former King Archer.

Ateneo and La Salle have been going at it for a very long time when it comes to basketball.

And more often than not, the collegiate rivalry among players continue into the PBA, unless they happen to be teammates of course.

Sunday marked the first pro meeting of Kiefer Ravena, the former King Eagle, and Jeron Teng, the former King Archer.

Jeron says that their Ateneo-La Salle rivalry will never go away and for Kiefer, it's basically their responsibility to keep that fire burning even though their no longer in Taft or in Katipunan.

"Dami nang dumaan na Ateneo at La Salle sa PBA and you know, with us, the new guys, renew the spark of Ateneans and La Sallians making a name for themselves in the PBA," Ravena said after his Road Warriors got the better of Jeron's Alaska Aces.

"It will always be a side story of our rivalry and we're very blessed to be part of that rivalry," he added.

The first Kiefer-Jeron matchup in the PBA wasn't necessarily a heated showdown between the two young stars.

But one play certainly made the highlight and that was Kiefer's late block on Jeron in the first half.

"We played four years together and played against each other so tendencies, medyo alam na namin kung anong gagawin ng isa't-isa," Ravena said.

"We only guarded each other for a while but it will never go away," he added.
