Prayers up for Boybits Victoria as he battles rare disease
Prayers are up for Boybits Victoria (From Bing Victoria on Facebook)
Former San Miguel guard Boybits Victoria is currently in critical condition and is being confined at the Intensive Care Unit of the San Juan De Dios Hospital.
According to his brother Bing, Boybits has been diagnosed with Guillan-Barre Syndrome (GBS), a rare disorder in which the immune system attacks healthy nerve cells in the peripheral nervous system.
According to the younger Victoria, his brother's respiratory muscles were damaged by GBS and is currenlty on a respirator to help his breathing.
The family is now asking for prayers and support for Boybits, who was a star for the San Beda Red Lions in the NCAA.
"We may pray hard, but more people praying with us can make mine a hundred, even a thousand fold more powerful," the younger Victoria said in a Facebook post.
Boybits was the PBA Rookie of the Year in 1994 and played for Swift before transferring to San Miguel.
