Beermen keep top spot after frustrating Aces
San Miguel erased a 15-point deficit to frustrate its rival Aces. The Beermen thus improved to 7-2 in the standings, half a game ahead of no. 2 Magnolia.

It looks like the top seed in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup is for San Miguel to lose.

The three-time defending champion Beermen solidified their hold of the no. 1 spot after a rousing 109-96 win over the Alaska Aces Saturday over at the Batangas City Coliseum.

San Miguel erased a 15-point deficit to frustrate its rival Aces. The Beermen thus improved to 7-2 in the standings, half a game ahead of no. 2 Magnolia.

Three players scored at least 20 points for the champs with Chris Ross leading the way with 24 points on top of nine assists.

Arwind Santos added 21 points and 14 rebounds while Marcio Lassiter also scored 21 to go along with eight boards. June Mar Fajardo finished with 17 points and 18 rebounds.

Alaska suffered its second straight loss and dropped to 6-4. Jvee Casio led the Aces with 20 points.
