Ballesteros on career game vs. Ginebra: Bwenas lang
While he only scored seven points, Ballesteros was responsible for three crucial points for the Bolts in the final minute of the game against the Gin Kings.

BOCAUE, Bulacan --- In its latest showdown with Ginebra at the Philippine Arena, Meralco found an unlikely hero in reserve big man Jason Ballesteros.

While he only scored seven points, Ballesteros was responsible for three crucial points for the Bolts in the final minute of the game against the Gin Kings.

After misses from Reynel Hugnatan and Chris Newsome, Ballesteros connected on the go-ahead putback with 36 seconds to go.

And after securing a crucial rebound on the other end, Ballesteros made one of two free throws to give Meralco an 84-82 lead in the last 17 seconds which ended up being the final tally.

Oh, and he also had a career-high 17 rebounds on top of all that.

"Bwenas lang," Ballesteros said.

"Sabi ni coach, kung gusto naming pumasok sa quarters, maglaro kami ng maayos. Tsaka lalo ngayon na yung mga big man kailangan mag-step up kasi malalaki nga ang Ginebra so yun ang ginawa ko," he added.

With Meralco having trouble finding a reliable inside presence in the All-Filipino, Ballesteros is hopeful he can fill that void for the Bolts.

His big game against Ginebra certainly adds confidence to his game.

"Sana ganun na nga," he said.

"Ganun lang, stay positive. Araw-araw, positive lang lagi," Ballesteros added.
