The playoff race in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup is heating up.

There are currently five teams with at least four wins each in the standings and three will see action Wednesday.

In the main game at 7:00 p.m., Phoenix (4-5) clash with Blackwater (4-6) in what is essentially an elimination bout for the Elite.

Blackwater is in a must-win situation against the Fuel Masters as another loss would prove fatal.

Meanwhile, the Fuel Masters would like to create separation from the pack and a win will put them in a tie for 6th place with idle Ginebra. Phoenix holds its tiebreaker with the Gin Kings.

In the opening game at 4:30 p.m., Globalport (4-5) will also go for a share of 6th place as the Batang Pier battle also-ran Kia (1-8).
