Sidelined during the Philippines' loss to Australia, the Blur will be back in harness against the Akatsuki Five.
There's still pain in his ankle but Jayson Castro is ready to report for Gilas duty Sunday against Japan as the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers continue.
Sidelined during the Philippines' loss to Australia, "the Blur" will be back in harness against the Akatsuki Five.
After spending the entire trip to Melbourne getting himself back to peak condition, Castro finally participated in scrimmages Saturday at the MOA Arena.
He says he's ready to go in the "do-or-die" game against the Japanese.
"During that trip [to Australia], puro rehab lang ako tsaka mga light workout para yung stamina ko nandun pa rin," Castro said.
"Kung sa kanila [Japan] do-or-die to, ganun din samin," he added.
After the loss against the Boomers, the Japan game is all the more important for Gilas as they hope to advance to the second round of the Asian Qualifiers.
And "the Blur" is out to make sure his team is aware of their situation on the court Sunday.
"Sa side naman natin, for us to move on sa second round, kailangan natin ipanalo to," he said.
"Yun yung mentality namin," Castro added.
