Justin Brownlee is definitely embracing the Philippines in each and every way he can.
After becoming a crowd favorite in the PBA, he is currently representing the Philippines in the ASEAN Basketball League with the red-hot Alab Pilipinas.
He's also been vocal about his love for the hoops-crazy nation, but now he just showed everyone that he really means it.
Case in point: Ryce Cañete Aguirre was just playing on a makeshift hoop around his home in San Juan when, seemingly out of nowhere, the 6'6" Brownlee asked to join him in a friendly game of one-on-one.
The footage posted by Aguirre on his Facebook page is now going viral, garnering around 1.7 million views as of press time.
"Habang nag 3 on 3 kami ng tropa, may sumigaw ng 1 on 1 sa kotse. Thank you Idol Brownlee! Isang karangalan!" shared Aguirre, who was just sporting slippers in his game with the versatile reinforcement.
Fellow Alab Pilipinas stars Lawrence Domingo and Josh Urbiztondo were also present, documenting the epic pickup game.
While it was all fun and games, Brownlee was able to posterize Aguirre a couple of times, eliciting oohs and aahs from the other players present.
But Aguirre did not back down, he was defending his home court after all. The slipper-clad baller was even able to score off a jumper, over the outstretched arms of the American import.
Say whatever you want about Brownlee, but you can't deny his love for the game, the Philippines, and the inseperable mixture of both.
Catch Justin Brownlee and Alab Pilipinas (11-4) as they face off against Westports Malaysia Dragos (4-10) this Sunday, March 4, 2:30 PM at the MABA Stadium in Kuala Lumpur. You can watch the game LIVE via streaming here.
