The Rookie of the Year race has some Ateneo vs. La Salle flavor to it.
At the end of the Philippine Cup elimination round, Kiefer Ravena leads all rookies in the statistical points race, going for an average of 27.0 after 11 games so far.
The no. 2 overall pick complied 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.9 steals for NLEX, leading the Road Warriors to a quarterfinal berth in the All-Filipino as the no. 6 seed.
A close second in the RoY race is Jeron Teng with an average of 25.2 SPs.
The no. 5 overall pick went for 13.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and. 1.0 steals for the no. 3-seeded Aces.
Alaska and NLEX are taking on each other in the quarterfinals.
Completing the top-5 rookies so far are Jason Perkins at no. 3 with 22.3 SPs, Raymar Jose at fourth with 20.3 SPs, and Robbie Herndon at fifth with 15.8 SPs.
