Kai Sotto, Terrence Fortea, and Forthsky Padrigao will make up a three-headed monster for Batang Gilas
Kai Sotto will again be suiting up for the youth team and as such, Batang Gilas is as formidable as ever as it gears up for the upcoming FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship.
Sotto, fresh off a championship and Finals MVP in the UAAP, will now be the main man for the Filipino side all set to compete in the continental meet next month in Foshan, China.
Flanking him from the perimeter will be Nazareth School of National University breakout star Terrence Fortea and incoming Ateneo de Manila High School teammate Forthsky Padrigao.
The 7-foot-1 15-year-old will be backstopped by capable bigs in Raven Cortez (De La Salle Zobel), Geo Chiu (Ateneo), and Bismarck Lina (University of Sto. Tomas) while the potent backcourt will also include RC Calimag (DLSZ) and Mac Guadana (Lyceum of the Philippines University).
Rounding out the squad are Yukien Andrada (San Beda High School), King Balaga and Bautista (Far Eastern University-Diliman), Rafael Go, Joshua Lazaro, Sanchez, Miguel Tan, and Ryan Yu (Xavier School).
Batang Gilas will need a top four finish to make it to the 2018 FIBA Under-17 World Cup in Argentina from June 30 to July 8.
