JMF leaves no room for SMB upset after dominant performance
The reigning four-time league MVP went off against the KaTropa on Tuesday, making 15 out of 19 shots to finish wit ha game-high 35 points in the quarerfinal win. He also had 11 rebounds for good measure.

Despite the top-seeded Beermen having a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals, it was imperative for the three-time defending champion Beermen to move on in the playoffs after just one game.

If not, the San Miguel was looking at a do-or-die game against TNT. And that's not an ideal situation for any team.

June Mar Fajardo made sure the champs avoided that situation.

The reigning four-time league MVP went off against the KaTropa on Tuesday, making 15 out of 19 shots to finish with a game-high 35 points in the quarterfinal win. He also had 11 rebounds for good measure.

"Kailangan naming manalo eh," Fajardo said.

"Pag natalo kami, parang medyo mahihirapan kami kasi mapupunta yung momentum sa kabila," he added.

As the Beermen made an effort to dump the ball to him down low, Fajardo made sure to make the most out of his opportunities.

After June Mar did just that, things opened up for the rest of the team. Marcio Lassiter finished with 20 points, 10 in the third, while Arwind Santos scored 15, 10 in the fourth.

"Binibigyan nila ako ng bola eh. Kailangan kong maka-score sa ilalim para lumuwag yung depensa ng kalaban sa itaas," he said.

"Yun ang nagawa namin. Ang daming na-shoot na tres ni Arwind kasi lagi syang iniiwan ng depensa," Fajardo added.

Making it to another semifinal appearance, the focus for the champs now is to get some rest as they wait for either Ginebra or Rain or Shine.

"Kailangan lang namin magpahinga, gamitin ng maayos yung pahinga, at maging ready sa semis kasi di talaga madali yun, mapa-Ginebra o Rain or Shine," Fajardo said.
