"Hindi naman ako pwedeng bumalik next conference na ganito pa rin ako," --- Terrence Romeo.
After a long down time following an injury, Terrence Romeo only ended up playing two games in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup.
Both were close defeats.
Now eliminated from the All-Filipino, the Bro is raring to go back to peak condition in order to help spark Globalport's up-and-down season.
"Hindi naman ako pwedeng bumalik next conference na ganito pa rin ako," Romeo said after the Batang Pier lost an early 20-point lead to Magnolia in the quarterfinals of the Philippine Cup, leading to their early exit.
"Hopefully maka-adjust ako, makapag-lose ng weight, at the same time, nag-iisip ako kung paano ko makukuha yung timing ko," he added.
In the two games he played so far this season, Romeo scored a combined 34 points. 20 in his first game back against Phoenix and 14 vs. the stingy Magnolia defense in the playoffs.
That's not enough.
And now that he's done with his actual recovery, Terrence wants to put the work in the gym. That includes him trying to regain his spot with the national team.
"Wala ng therapy, more on strengthening na lang," he said.
"Siguro may parating din na 3-on-3 tsaka sa Gilas. Hopefully, makapag-try out ulit ako sa Gilas. Hindi naman pwede na ganito lang yung performance ko pag nagpunta ako doon. Yun ang kailangan ko paghandaan," Romeo added.
