TNT looking to bring back Joshua Smith for Comm's Cup
The short list of imports for TNT include Joshua Smith, the towering reinforcement that almost handed the KaTropa a title last year.
TNT head coach Nash Racela is ready to move on from a rather disappointing PBA Philippine Cup.
The KaTropa finished with a 5-6 record and almost missed the playoffs. They actually did make the quarterfinals as the no. 8 seed though.
But they got smashed by three-time defending champion San Miguel in just one game.
The focus shifts to the Commissioner's Cup for the flagship MVP franchise, a tournament where they made the Finals last season.
And the short list of imports for TNT include Joshua Smith, the towering reinforcement that almost handed the KaTropa a title last year.
"Of course, nandoon si Joshua," head coach Nash Racela on his team's list of possible imports.
"But Joshua right now is still playing in Japan. So he's in game shape. Wala munang names but yeah, Joshua is part of the short list," he added.
Aside from looking for an import, the KaTropa are also looking at possible roster changes to improve the team's performance.
TNT already made a deal late in the All-Filipino, acquiring Jericho Cruz from Rain or Shine.
"There's always a possibility," Racela said.
"We've gone through these as looking for improvement. With the new guys we brought in, we know we'll be good. Jericho has only been with us for 2-3 weeks and we like what we saw. It's time for him to fully adjust. We have enough time during the break," he added.
