Now winners of back-to-back outings, Magnolia, despite missing Marc Pingris due to an ACL tear, is now up in the best-of-7, two games to one.

The no. 2 Hotshots have taken control of the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals for the first time, beating NLEX, 106-99, in Game 3 Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

Now winners of back-to-back outings, Magnolia, despite missing Marc Pingris due to an ACL tear, is now up in the best-of-7, two games to one.

"Again, it's all about the team effort and sustaining the aggressiveness and intensity," head coach Chito Victolero said.

"We want yung momentum nung Game 2, madala sa Game 3," he added.

With another game coming down the wire, the Hotshots proved to be steadier this time around as Ian Sangalang and Jio Jalalon both hit timely baskets to ice the victory.

Jalalon was brilliant all game long, scoring 25 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists while Sangalang carried the load for Magnolia's frontline, dropping 24, 10 in the fourth quarter, on top of seven rebounds.
