Sangalang's big playoff game proves Marc Pingris right
In Game 3 of their semifinal series against NLEX, Sangalang went off on the Road Warriors, scoring 24 points, 17 in the second half, to help the Hotshots take a 2-1 series lead.

Ian Sangalang is the Magnolia frontline's present and future.

In fact, he's the next Marc Pingris, according to Marc Pingris himself.

And with Ping possibly out for the season with an ACL tear, Ian is taking the spotlight for himself, just as expected.

In Game 3 of their semifinal series against NLEX, Sangalang went off on the Road Warriors, scoring 24 points, 17 in the second half, to help the Hotshots take a 2-1 series lead.

That performance was for Pingris, of course.

"Unang-una, binibigay ko game kay kuya Ping," Sangalang said.

"Siya lang iniisip ko kapag ganoong situations. Iniisip ko mga tinuro ni kuya Ping, ginagawa ko lang best ko," he added.

Moving closer to that elusive Finals appearance, Sangalang says now is not the time for the Hotshots to lose composure.

And in order the break though, the team will have to rely on its strengths to finish the Road Warriors off.

"Pang-apat na semis na namin to so dapat wag sayangin," Sangalang said.

"Very positive kami na kaya talaga namin, especially on defense. Kasi pag dumepensa kami, mananalo talaga kami," he added.
