With Chris Ross bothered by an injury, San Miguel inserted Matt Ganuelas-Rosser into the starting lineup for Game 4 against Brgy. Ginebra Thursday.
And Ganuelas-Rosser did his best Ross impression, finishing with 12 points on 83 percent shooting on top of six rebounds and nine assists.
"Coming in, we knew Chris wasn't 100 percent so you know, the good thing about this team is it's next man up. My whole team gave me confidence to step up so I just stepped up my game," Ganuelas-Rosser said.
"Thankfully it was good enough for us to get a win," he added.
More than his efficient day from the field, it was MGR's playmaking that gave the Beermen some much-needed lift as Ross played limited minutes.
"We were making shots. And that's always been part of my game, to move the ball. Today for sure, with Ross not out there, I wanted to step up in that department and just keep the ball moving," he said.
Now up 3-1 in the best-of-7, Ganuelas-Rosser says it's time for the Beermen to finish things off and not let the Beermen spark a Never Say Die comeback.
"Our mentality is to just come out and play hard and not to let them get a chance," he said.
