"Bad start kami nung third eh." --- Magnolia head coach Chito Victolero.
Game 4 was another grinding contest between NLEX and Magnolia, until it wasn't.
The Road Warrios scored 14 straight points to start the second half Friday at MOA, turning a 41-39 lead into a 55-39 advantage. NLEX never looked back and was able to tie the best-of-7 series at two games each.
"Bad start kami nung third eh," head coach Chito Victolero said.
"Kumbaga bago kami lumabas ng dugout, yun yung reminders ko sa mga bata e, na we need to start strong in the third e. If we want to win this game, nasa third quarter yung result kung ano yung gusto naming mangyari. Yun nga, mas ready yung NLEX," he added.
Ultimately, the second-year Magnolia mentor said that his team was simply outplayed by a more desparate team.
Now, the focus shifts to a more crucial Game 5 with series control hanging in the balance anew.
"I think mas gusto nila manalo ngayon so we'll just try to adjust sa mga kailangan naming i-adjust," Victolero said of NLEX.
"And then we need to be aggressive next time, mas agresibo, mas mataas yung energy. And it's down to a best-of-3 series. It's anybody's ball game, sabi nga nila. I think kailangan lang namin mag-ready. Tomorrow siguro we just have to review yung tapes, kung ano yung pwede namin iadjust yung both ends," he added.
