Import Renaldo Balkman hurt his ankle late in the first half Wednesday against Indonesia.
Injury woes continue to pile up for Alab Pilipinas.
Late in the first half Wednesday against the CLS Knights of Indonesia, two Alab players suffered ankle injuries around seven seconds apart.
Import Renaldo Balkman first went down with a left ankle injury. Guard Pao Javelona followed almost immediately after hurting his right ankle.
While Javelona was able to return in the second half, Balkman was nowhere to be found.
The towering Puerto Rican ended up leaving the game limping and had to be helped off by team staff on his way to the team bus.
While the true extent of Balkman's injury is yet to be determined, head coach Jimmy Alapag feels that his import can pull through.
"As far as we know it's just an ankle sprian," Alapag said of Balkman.
"We'll know tomorrow. But he's a tough guy, I'm sure he'll be alright," he added.
