San Miguel will work on Holy Week, however, Leo Austra will give the champs some chance to actually observe the lenten season properly: Baka magalit yung nagbibigay sa amin ng blessings, ano.
San Miguel will be working on Holy Week.
Well, maybe except on Good Friday because head coach Leo Austria wants his team to rest and reflect.
And also to give respect to the One up above, You know, the One that grants the Beermen blessings.
In another classic post-game press conference, Austria outlined the Beermen's plans for the Holy Week, where no PBA Finals games will be played.
"Definitely we'll give them a long rest, 24 hours [Holy Monday]," Austria said after San Miguel tied the Philippine Cup Finals at one game each Sunday.
"Then we will practice on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Let's see how hard they work in practice, then maybe I will give them another day to reflect, dahil it's Holy Week and baka magalit yung nagbibigay sa amin ng blessings, ano. It's about time to praise God and reflect yourselt ano, what's wrong and what's right," he added.
While San Miguel's break still depends on how the team actually performs in practice, Austria is almost certain the three-time champs will take Good Friday off.
It will give them the opportunity to spend time with family and to do their respective Holy Week traditions.
"Dahil baka kailangan namin mag-prosesyon [on Good Friday] para yung blessing na ibinibigay samin, ibalik naman namin sa God Almighty," he said.
"Alam naman natin, Friday is the right time to reflect and know what is best and what is good for yourself and for your friends and family," Austria added.
