PBA: Sangalang, Hotshots need to stop playing with fire
Magnolia is actually lucky the series is tied at one game each heading into the Holy Week break before the now crucial Game 3 on Easter Sunday.

Two games into the PBA Finals and Magnolia has trailed by 20 points at one point in Game 1 and by 21 points at one point in Game 2.

If the Hotshots are to win the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup, that has to stop.

Because first of all, playing that kind of game is highly unsustainable.

Second of all... well there's no second reason. Playing that kind of game is highly unsustainable.

Magnolia is actually lucky the series is tied at one game each heading into the Holy Week break before the now crucial Game 3 on Easter Sunday.

"Hindi pwedeng laging ganun," forward Ian Sangalang said after Magnolia failed to engineer a second straight comeback in Game 2 Sunday, allowing the three-time champion Beermen to tie the Finals.

"Mahihirapan kami pag ganun ang mangyayari. Dapat hindi na pwede lumamang ang San Miguel, maintain lang yung score para parehas lang palagi," he added.

In Game 2, the Hotshots looked like they were in good position to go up 2-0 on the Beermen.

After allowing 31 points to June Mar Fajardo in Game 1, they limited the reigning four-time MVP to 12 points in Game 2.

However, it seems like the Hotshots forgot to check everyone else.

Arwind Santos was a pest for four quarters in Game 2, firing a game-high 24 points. Marcio Lassiter and Alex Cabagnot also got their usual numbers.

Limiting the entire Beermen crew, which is easier said than done really, is the focus for Magnolia moving forward.

"Na-limit namin si June Mar, yung shooters naman ang naka-shoot," Sangalang said.

"Kailangan may game-plan kami sa pick and roll nila. Kailangan ma-review namin kung ano yung dapat gawin. Mahirap yung June Mar-Cabagnot o June Mar-Lassiter. Kailangan may panlaban kami dun," he added.
