PBA: Victolero wants Magnolia to forget about basketball
"Kasi I think for the last three weeks, every other day kami naglalaro eh. So mas magandang makapahinga yung mga players. Kalimutan muna yung basketball," --- Chito Victolero.

After playing every other day for the last couple of weeks, now is the time for Magnolia to forget about basketball altogether.

Forget about the whole game even if the Hotshots are in the middle of a heated PBA Finals series against San Miguel Beer.

With the Philippine Cup Finals taking a short break for the Holy Week, head coach Chitp Victolero wants his wards to take their minds off of the pressure of trying to win a title for a little while.

Maybe if they do so, they can return as sharp as ever for Game 3 to you know... avoid being blown out by 20 points.

"Kasi I think for the last three weeks, every other day kami naglalaro eh. So mas magandang makapahinga yung mga players. Kalimutan muna yung basketball," Victolero said.

"Then ganun rin siguro kay San Miguel. Maganda ring break yun sa kanila. At least yung mga players kahit papaano makapahinga and then lumabas ulit yung laro nila. Maganda para sa fans, sa PBA na at least makapahinga yung superstars para makita natin talaga yung mga laro nila, even on the other side, kay San Miguel," Victolero added, ever the gentleman.

While rest is needed, the Hotshots are not about to take any vacations.

Victolero already mentioned his team will practice on Good Friday and one of the things Magnolia will work on during this extended off time is how to fish for more fouls.

In Game 2, the Hotshots only shot seven free throws, making four. The Beermen were a perfect 15 out of 15.

"Even if we’re aggressive, we only have seven free throws for the whole game so we need to find ways siguro kung papaano pa namin makakapunta sa free throw," Victolero said.

"Kasi ganun na kami ka-agresibo but di pa rin kami maka-advantage dun sa free throws namin. Yun lang," he added.
