Renaldo Balkman back in the PBA?

In a report by PBA Press Corps president Gerry Ramos of Spin.ph, the Philippine Basketball Association has decided to lift the lifetime ban imposed on the controversial import.

According to the report, the league has consulted with former Commissioner Chito Salud, the one who gave the ban in 2013, and he gave his recommendation to go ahead with the move.

Current Commissioner Willie Marcial is set to give an official announcement soon.

In the Commissioner's Cup five years ago, Balkman, playing for Petron Blaze, was slapped with a lifetime ban on top of a P250,000 fine for choking teammate Arwind Santos, among other things, during a heated game against the Alaska Aces.

The former New York Knick has since made his way back to the Philippines though, playing for Alab Pilipinas in the Asean Basketball League.

Coached by Jimmy Alapag, Balkman and Alab are in the playoffs of the ABL season after finishing the elimnation round with a 14-6 record.
