8:00 PM – Alab Pilipinas vs Saigon Heat

Alab Pilipinas missed out on a top two finish in the eliminations and an outright semifinals slot in the 2017-2018 Asean Basketball League.

Nonetheless, the Filipino squad remains confident about its chances in the best-of-three quarterfinals, especially with its kababayans right behind it when it dukes it out with Vietnam’s Saigon Heat in the middle of the Filoil Flying V Centre floor on Sunday.

The very first game of this season’s ABL playoffs tips off at 8:00 and, as always, all of the action will be on S+A, S+A HD, and via livestream.

The Philippines was hoping for a Hong Kong win against Chinese team Chong Son last Wednesday to be able to claim the second-seed.

The defending champions, however, were routed, thus sending Alab to the quarterfinals instead of straight into the semis.

Still, Plan B is more than doable for Renaldo Balkman, Justin Brownlee, Ray Parks Jr., and company who have won 10 of their last 12 games.

Vietnam is far from an easy out, though, and Maxie Esho, Akeem Scott, and Filipino-American Mikey Williams will go all-out for an upset.
