PBA Finals Game 5 By the Numbers: Next challengers, please
There's no end in sight for San Miguel's current dynasty.

The latest challenger has fallen.

San Miguel Beer extended its All-Filipino dynasty Friday, beating the Magnolia Hotshots in a double-overtime classic foe Game 5 of the Philippine Cup Finals.

The Beermen won the series, 4-1.

And before we move on to the inevitable Grand Slam talks again, let's take cues from the Beermen themselves and celebrate this title first.

And by celebrate, we mean another round of By the Numbers.

4

Number of Philippine Cups won by San Miguel Beer in four years.

Literally no team has ever done that before so yes, that's another historic achievement for the Beermen.

25

Total championships for San Miguel, the most in PBA history.

No one even comes close to the Beermen. The team's tradition of winning is incredible.

6

Number of titles for San Miguel in the past 10 conferences.

This current San Miguel dynasty started when head coach Leo Austria took over, the guy is a perfect 6 out of 6 in the PBA Finals.

There's no end in sight for this amazing run for the Beermen.

42

Total points for Finals MVP June Mar Fajardo in Game 5.

The Kraken was unstoppable as the Beermen rallied for the win, scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter and another 12 in overtime, including eight in the second extra session.

42 points is also June Mar's playoff career high and most points scored by a local in the Finals since Jayson Castro scored 44 three years ago.

2

Number of steals needed by Chris Ross to complete the first quadruple-double in PBA history.

Ross narrowly missed the mark, finishing with 13 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, and eight steals.
