PBA: Hotshots' 100 percent not enough to handle SMB

"Wala na akong mahihiling sa mga players ko. Usapan naman namin, 100 percent effort. Sumobra pa nga eh," --- head coach Chito Victolero on his Hotshots.
The Hotshots waited so long and worked so hard to finally reach the PBA Finals.
And when they got there, they were smashed by the almighty San Miguel Beermen.
Seriously, in five games, Magnolia trailed at least 20 three different times and in the clincher, they blew a 23-point lead and lost in double overtime.
If not for an incredible comeback in Game 1, the Beermen would have swept Magnolia.
Instead, San Miguel won the Philippine Cup via a gentleman's sweep for a second year in a row.
Still, Chito Victolero, playing in his first Finals a head coach. couldn't be more proud of his wards.
"Wala na akong mahihiling sa mga players ko. Usapan naman namin, 100 percent effort. Sumobra pa nga eh," he said after the Hotshots lost the All-Filipino, 1-4.
"Our goal is a grind out game, we achieved that. We stayed close. Two overtimes. Breaks of the game lang," Victolero added.
The final two games of the series were games Magnolia wanted says Victolero.
The Hotshots just couldn't pull it off. And after this experience, Victolero hopes his team can comeback healthy and try again next time.
Hopefully, with a better result as well.
"Hindi nakalusot," he said.
"Sana makabalik ulit kami sa ganitong situation with a complete lineup," Victolero added.
