PBA: Yancy De Ocampo is super blessed
Rafi, the no. 2 overall pick of the 2002 Draft, has 10 championships. Yancy, the no. 1 overall pick of the 2002 Draft, now also has 10 championships.

Rafi Reavis has some company.

By virtue of San Miguel winning the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup, veteran center Yancy De Ocampo has joined Reavis for the shared title of winningest active player in the league.

Rafi, the no. 2 overall pick of the 2002 Draft, has 10 championships. Yancy, the no. 1 overall pick of the 2002 Draft, now also has 10 championships.

While he finally tied Reavis, Yancy says there's no comparison.

For one, he's not really trying to compete with his PBA batchmate and second, their roles with their respective teams are far different.

"Kahit sino naman walang magka-pareho, pero maganda kasi si Rafi nagagamit sa kabilang team tapos dito, nagchi-cheer ako," Yancy said, with a laugh.

"Hindi siguro kasi dito [SMB], more of ano na ako eh, yung little things. Parehas kaming blessed [Rafi] na pumapalag pa," he added.

Now that he has more than enough championships to spare, Yancy is just looking for one more thing before he considers calling it quits.

The elder De Ocampo wants a Grand Slam after missing out on it twice already.

The Beermen obviously failed to complete the triple crown last season and Yancy was traded away from San Mig before the Coffee Mixers finished off the sweep fo the 2014 season.

Besides, the everyday grind getting tiring already. If San Miguel's dominance continues through the end of this year, Yancy might actually hang up the sneaks.
