Kobe Paras is coming home.

The son of former PBA Rookie-MVP Benjie who recently turned pro, Kobe is flying to the Philippines to bolster the Gilas Pilipinas #23for23 crew that will see action in the upcoming 2018 Filoil-Flying V Preseason Premier Cup.

Head coach Chot Reyes confirmed the development via a Facebook post from Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas, the national team's chief backer.

"Kobe needs to play, not just practice. The more actual games he gets, the better he'll become. That's why we're including him in our Filoil and Jones Cup rosters," Reyes said from the release.

Following an underwhelming freshman season at Creighton, Kobe transferred to Cal State Northridge with hopes of playing next season in the US NCAA Division 1.

However, Paras never suited up for the Matadors after deciding to go pro earlier this year.

The Filoil stint should be Kobe's first action since his decision.

Kobe is set to arrive this weekend to join the national team in practice.
