Green and then blue, Kobe Paras and Ricci Rivero will be wearing the same uniform once more
The Gilas cadets are eagerly awaiting the return home of Kobe Paras.
Perhaps, none more so, however, than Ricci Rivero.
“Siyempre, sobrang looking forward ako kasi sobrang tagal na nung last time na naging teammates kami,” Rivero told reporters. “Sana makauwi na nga siya talaga kasi sino bang may ayaw na may Kobe sa team.”
Rivero and Paras once wore the green and white for La Salle Greenhills in the NCAA Juniors.
In Season 89, the two, along with Prince Rivero and Robert Bolick, challenged dynastic San Beda High School in the Finals.
There, the Greenies fell to the Red Cubs who completed a season sweep.
Now, the two tantalizing talents get together anew, this time for flag and country.
And this time, they are hoping there will be no more unfinished business. As Rivero put it, “Sa Greenhills, ‘di namin nakuha yung championship kaya rito sa first tournament for (Gilas cadets), sana mag-jell kami agad.”
He then continued, “Sana manalo kami ng championship – hindi lang sa Filoil, kung hindi for the country rin.”
