Ricci and Prince Rivero have nothing else on their minds right now other than being part of the Gilas cadets
Ricci Rivero is not yet worrying about the next step in his collegiate career.
“Meron pa akong until August para mag-decide,” he told reporters last Wednesday after his first practice with the Gilas cadets.
Rather, the Gilas cadets is exactly where is mind is at the moment. “Sa ngayon, focus ko muna is with (Gilas cadets). Siyempre, iba rito, country na ang nire-represent so we have to be at our best,” he said.
A week ago, the Season 80 Mythical selection announced his exit from De La Salle University. Since then, many rumors have popped up on where he was going to end up, but he himself has made no categorical statement.
The same goes for kuya Prince who said that, at present, the Gilas cadets is his priority. “As of right now, I’m gonna focus sa (Gilas cadets). Dream ko ‘to e so ngayong hawak ko na siya, ‘di na ako papayag na mawala pa,” he said.
He then continued, “I have a lot of time pa to decide whether to continue playing for college or to go semi-pro na. I’m gonna prioritize (Gilas cadets) muna.”
Prince also said that he is considering seeing his first action in the PBA D-League, but as of right now, the national team is where he is.
That, and finishing his bachelor’s degree. “I’m gonna study muna kasi malapit ko na matapos college. Iba rin kasi kapag nakapaglaro ka ng college at nakapagtapos ka. Whatever happens, I have a fall back (option),” he shared.
