Ray Parks Jr. has been recognized as the best Southeast Asian player for the second year in a row
STA. ROSA, LAGUNA - For the second time in his young career, Ray Parks Jr. has won two straight MVP awards.
The Alab Pilipinas stalwart has been hailed as the top local player in the 2017-2018 Asean Basketball League, hoisting his well-earned award right before Game 2 of the Finals on Wednesday at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex.
Parks Jr. averaged 15.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists, helping the Filipino side to its first playoff and Finals win in franchise history.
He gets to keep the recognition, having also won the Local MVP a season ago.
This is the second time Parks Jr. has won back-to-back MVPs - the first coming during his first two years with National University in the UAAP.
