Jimmy Alapag and son Ian did some twinning in Alab Pilipinas' Game 3 win over Mono Vampire
BANGKOK, THAILAND – It’s becoming clearer and clearer that Alab Pilipinas has one advantage over Mono Vampire in the 2017-2018 Asean Basketball League.
Thailand coach Douglas Marty is being outcoached by Philippine head coach Jimmy Alapag.
And we mean that literally – as in Game 3, there were two Jimmy Alapags compared to just one Douglas Marty.

Seriously, however, it was nothing but an adorable sight to see Filipino mentor Alapag and son Ian in matching longsleeves, ties, slacks, and black shoes last Saturday at the Stadium 29 here.
Father and son came out of the dugout hand in hand before the game and were again together in the post-win interview.
Five-year-old Ian was even checking out the stat sheet while his daddy was doing so.
As for the opposing coaches, make no mistake, Alab’s shot-caller has nothing but respect for Mono’s tactician.
“That is a very, very good team on the other side. They are very, very well-coached,” Alapag said of the Vampire and their coach.
Marty, who could very well give Alapag a run for his money as an always amiable figure, only shared the same sentiment. “We’re up against a great team because Alab has a sharp coaching staff,” he expressed.
Because of these two coaches and how well they have prepared their teams, the 2017-2018 ABL Finals has been must-watch.
And safe to say, it will be another thrilling tiff when Game 4 tips off on Monday. As always, all of the action will still be on S+A and S+A HD.
