PBA: ROS steady in the clutch to score third straight win

Reggie Johnson made the game-winning free throw as Rain or Shine rolled to its third straight victory in the Commissioner's Cup.
ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal --- Clutch performance for Rain or Shine.
The Elasto Painters proved to be steadier down the stretch, surviving NLEX to take a close 98-97 win in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup Wednesday at the Ynares Center here.
Tied at 97, import Reggie Johnson split his free throws for ROS to take a one point lead with 7.8 seconds to go.
The Road Warriors then had to go the length of the floor without a timeout but before they even crossed haflcourt, Chris Tiu forced a crucial turnover on Juami Tiongson to seal the victory.
Johnson finised with a game-high 27 points and 14 rebounds for ROS as the Elasto Painters improved to 3-0 for the conference. Tiu and Raymond Almazan added 12 each while Jay Washington was good for 10 points.
It was a back-and-forth affair all game long with no team taking a significant advantage.
ROS just proved to be more steady in the clutch to take the win and hand NLEX its second loss in as many games.
Import Arnett Moultrie scored 24 in his PBA debut while Kiefer Ravena and JR Quinahan each scored 23 for the Road Warriors.
