Though it never led to a full confrontation, the two reinforcements were chatty with one another in the TNT-Ginebra game.
Late in Sunday's clash featuring TNT and Ginebra, imports Jeremy Tyler of the KaTropa and Charles Garcia of the Gin Kings were seen on-court barking at each other.
Though it never led to a full confrontation, the two reinforcements were chatty with one another.
Tyler, who finished with only two points but grabbed 15 rebounds, made it clear that that was just some "friendly" conversation between two old foes.
"Yeah, you know, in the course of the game, we get tired, all athletes get tired and the first thing when you get tired that goes away is your mind, your mindset," Tyler said when asked about the whole thing with Garcia.
"And I know Charles, so we had an exchange of words and I just said 'Hey, you're tired, you're not thinking straight. Just take a breather, you don't have to argue and let's just play ball.' It may look like it's a rough talk but that's because we're intense. I've known Charles for 10 years plus so I just told him, 'You're tired, we're both tired, let's relax and get our mind back right.' That was basically it," he added.
Tyler likewise clarified that he goes way back with Garcia so his incident with him in the heated TNT-Ginebra game was basically nothing.
He's on to the next one.
"I played against him throughout my career a lot. I played him in the D-League, I played against him just like Monday to Friday at the gym at home every week so I'm familiar with his game," he said.
