La Salle blasts UA&P by 96 points in Got Skills Summer

Mark Dyke pounded in 27 points to lead four other La Salle players in double-digits as they destroyed still winless University of Asia & the Pacific by 96 points, 129-33, in the 2018 Milcu Sports Basketball presented by Got Skills Adidas Summer Showcase last Friday at the Buddha Care Gym in Quezon City.

Dyke, who is back with the team after trying his luck in FEU, imposed his will right from tip-off and fronted the Green Archers’ 31-10 charge in the opening period. He also wound up with five rebounds, three steals, and two assists.

The Taft-based team showed no mercy throughout and held the Dragons scoreless in the final frame while also scoring 34 points at the other end.

In all, La Salle made good on 62 percent of its field goals even as it more than double the attempts of its opponent, 94-41.

Twin towers Ta’ane Samuel and Justine Baltazar collected 16 points each and combined for nine rebounds and two blocks to help the Green Archers score their second straight win that evens their record to 2-2.

Meanwhile, National U put the first blemish on the once spotless slate of Arellano with a 72-66 decision last Thursday at the Trinity University of Asia Gym also in QC.

Versatile wing Jayson Puray and floor leader Chammi Diputado showed the way with 13 and 12 points, respectively, as the Bulldogs improved to 2-2.

The now 3-1 Chiefs were paced by Michael Canete who had 11 points and eight rebounds.

In other results, Lyceum sailed away from UE in the fourth period for a 78-62 win. The two teams are now tied for fourth in the standings at 2-2

Also on even ground with the Pirates and the Red Warriors is FEU which gored Manuel L. Quezon University for a 69-56 victory.

The Adidas Summer Showcase resumes on Tuesday at the Trinity University Gym La Salle going for a third win in a row against MLQU.
