Dealing with knee issues, Standhardinger sat out San Miguel's victories against Ginebra last June 3 and Columbian Wednesday. Gilas' first day in the World Cup will be on Saturday and the 2017 top pick hopes to be available for the national team.
Christian Standhardinger has missed two games for San Miguel Beer in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup and he says he's still day-to-day as the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup nears and he's supposed to play for Team Philippines.

Gilas' first day in the World Cup will be on Saturday and the 2017 top pick hopes to be available for the national team.
"I can only say day by day.I hope it doesn't swell up more. Obviously, I'm trying everything in my power to play on Saturday," Standhardinger said on his status.
Fortunately, Standhardinger's knee is not broken or anything.
His injury can just be attributed to the wear and tear it sustained in the past year. Since playing for Gilas Pilipinas starting with the 2017 Jones Cup, Standhardinger has been playing practically non stop with stints with the ABL included in between.
"We made an MRI, so there's nothing broken. It just swells up because all my muscles are very, very tight. And then when it swells up, it can lock, and when it locks I can't move anymore," Standhardinger said.
"So that's what I'm worried. So I've been stretching a lot, I've been doing a lot of physiotherapy and really trying to loosen that thing up, so I'll be ready on Saturday, especially on the floor. You know the floor is very hard, you know? It's not like a wooden floor, so that is extra hard on the knees, and that's why I'm trying to prepare as good as possible. It's just a day by day operation right now," he added.
The Philippines will start group play in the World Cup Saturday against Brazil and Mongolia.
Aside from Standhardinger, the Gilas 3x3 crew will have Troy Rosario, RR Pogoy, and Stanley Pringle.
