3x3WC: Pringle makes national team debut as Gilas starts WC
The high-scoring Globalport guard makes his national team debut Saturday as Gilas Pilipinas starts pool play in the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup. Joining Pringle for Gilas are Christian Standhardinger, Troy Rosario, and RR Pogoy.

MANILA, Philippines --- Finally, it's time for Gilas Pilipinas to unleash Stanley Pringle.

The high-scoring Globalport guard makes his national team debut Saturday as Gilas Pilipinas starts pool play in the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup.

Joining Pringle for Gilas are Christian Standhardinger, Troy Rosario, and RR Pogoy.

Seeded 19th out of 20 teams, the Pinoys will be put to the test early in Pool C, opening with a showdown with no. 6 Brazil at 3:10 p.m. before facing no. 11 Mongolia at 6:40 p.m.

"Kailangan namin ng panalo sa unang araw," forward Troy Rosario said of Gilas' campaign in the World Cup.

"Dalawang games kami, at least one sana makuha namin. Para may chance kami sa next round," he added.

Also seeing action for Day 2 Saturday at the Philippine Arena is Pool A where defending champion and no. 1 Serbia is bracketed with 2017 runner-up the Netherlands as well as Romania, New Zealand, and Kyrgyztan.
