"It hurts a lot but it didn't claw up on me so we're good," Standhardinger said on his knee.
BOCAUE, Bulacan --- Christian Standhardinger is a warrior.
Still dealing with knee issues, Standhardinger managed to hold his own for Gilas Pilipinas as the national team made its debut in the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup Saturday, beating Brazil, 15-7.
The Fil-German forward scored three points for Gilas, just behind Stanley Pringle, Troy Rosario, and RR Pogoy who all scored four points each.
All that effort and his knee still bothers him.
"It hurts a lot but it didn't claw up on me so we're good," Standhardinger said.
What's good as well is the fact that Team Philippines is already 1-0, getting that crucial one win in the first day of pool play.
"I feel awesome about the first game because we won," Standhardinger said.
"We'll do the same things [next game] and we'll build on that," he added.
Gilas will play Mongolia at 6:40 p.m. to wrap up Saturday's schedule.
