Fil-Japanese Tatsuhito Noro and his mother Alma Miwa reunite in the Philippines during the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup. Noro hasn't seen his mother since Miwa suffered a stroke last year.
3x3BOCAUE, Bulacan --- In one of the better stories of the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup, Fil-Japanese star Tatsuhito Noro was able get in touch with his family in a touching reunion.
Noro, born in Tokyo to a Filipina mother, Alma Miwa, is in the country for the first time.
He reunited with his mom and got the chance to meet his maternal grandmother, Cely Miranda, for the first time as well.
On top of that, Tatsuhito was able to give his mom a late mother's day gift as his presence gave the ailing Miwa a timely boost.
Miwa suffered a stroke in Japan last year. She had treatment there and returned the Philippines last December to recover and do therapy.
While Tatsuhito used to visit Miwa every now and then in Japan, she hasn't met her son since.
"Tuwang-tuwa ako nakita ko siya," Miwa said.
"Nakita ko anak ko, nawala na yung sama ng loob ko. Happy ako ngayon makita ko lang siya. Pati yung nanay ko happy na nakita niya apo niya," she added.
