BOCAUE, Bulacan --- The mood inside the Gilas Pilipinas locker after a tough 19-20 loss to Canada in the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup Monday was well... not good.
Following a second-straight frustrating loss, tensions already started to mount for the national team.
Guard Stanley Pringle took the loss hard, shouldering the blame as the Philippines failed to advance in the quarterfinals.
"It's on me," Pringle said.
After a nearly unstoppable opening day performance, Pringle struggled against the Canadians, scoring only three points.
To be fair, the Philippines struggled as a whole, falling to an early 2-9 deficit.
Gilas managed to come back, and even take the lead inside the final two minutes, as RR Pogoy caight fire from deep.
However, several defensive blunders doomed Gilas, allowing Michael Linklater to lift Canada to a huge win.
The Philippines will try to end the World Cup on a high notes vs. Russia in the tournament's final pool play.
