3x3WC: Spotlight turns to Serbia as World Cup playoffs start
In the final day Tuesday, no. 1 Serbia gets to properly defend its title as the playoffs officially start.

MANILA, Philippines --- While Gilas and Perlas Pilipinas are both eliminated from the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup, there's still a lot of basketball left to be played.

In the final day Tuesday, no. 1 Serbia gets to properly defend its title as the playoffs officially start.

The Serbians take on Mongolia for the first men's quarterfinals game followed by Latvia vs. Poland.

Also through to the next round and will battle for a semis slot are Slovenia, Ukraine, Canada, and the Netherlands.

In the quarters, it's Slovenia vs. Ukraine while Canada will a showdown against the Dutch.

Meanwhile, no. 1 China leads the women's playoffs as they take on no. 3 Hungary in the quarterfinals.

Other pairings are Czech Republic vs. defending champion Russia, Spain vs. France, and United States vs. Italy.

The Philippines is not entirely out in the final day as Perlas deadsot Janine Pontejos will compete in the final of the three-point shootout.
