BOCAUE, Bulacan --- David Carlos actually got lucky.

The Pinoy dunker failed to advance to the final of the 2018 FIBA 3x3 dunk contest Tuesday at the Philippine Arena here but he nevertheless settled for a bronze medal.

Carlos scored a total of 46 points in his two dunks in the semifinals which was way short to advance in the final where only the top-2 dunkers competed.

He got bronze after Ukraine's Vadym "Miller" Piddubchenko got a zero for a failed dunk on his second attempt. He scored 27 for his first between the legs, reverse dunk.

Ukraine's Dmytro "Smoove" Krivenko and France's Guy Dupuy faced off the final after both scoring 51 points in the semis.

Smoove eventually edged out Dupuy after three dunks, 79-60, as the French star got a zero in his first attempt. Catch all the dunk contest highlights here.
