So when Stanley Pringle scored a career-high 50 points for Globalport Wednesday in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup, Pido was hardly surprised.
In fact, Pringle's outburst reminded him of himself back in the day.
"Tonight is Stanley's show," Jarencio said.
"Nine three points tapos 50 points, para ako lang nung college ah," he added, drawing laughs as he started his post-game talk.
Jarencio wasn't kidding though. He once scored 48 points for the UST Glowing Goldies.
In the UAAP Finals.
Globalport needed all 50 points from Pringle as they made one final push for the playoffs.
With the win against the Dyip, the Batang Pier are now at 5-5 with one more crucial game against Ginebra coming up.
"Sabi ko nga, hindi tayo pwede matalo. If we want to go to the playoffs, kailangan na namin manalo," Jarencio said.
"Pero di pa natin alam eh, basta kami nakakuha na kami ng five wins. Ang importante nandito na kami, ready na kami," he added.
