MPBL: Parks Jr. and Manda bounce back; GSW a winner anew
Ray Parks Jr. and Mandaluyong have barged into the win column

Ray Parks Jr. put himself all over the floor of the Imus Sports Complex in Cavite last Saturday to make sure his Mandaluyong team would not stay down in the 2018 2018 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Anta Datu Cup.

The rest of the El Tigre only followed his lead as they took the fight out of Zamboanga, 71-61, for their first win in franchise history.

Parks Jr. tallied 13 points and a league record 15 assists, many of which went to Prince Rivero who muscled his way inside for 18 points to go along with 12 rebounds.

With those two doing the heavy lifting, Mandaluyong mightily rebounded from their season-opening loss.

The El Tigre mounted a lead of as much as 20, but saw the Valientes threatening at 45-48 late in the third until Rivero went on a personal 7-0 run for the answer.

They would not be threatened the rest of the way.

For also 1-1 Zamboanga, Reed Juntilla topped the scoring column with 20 points.

Meanwhile, General Santos is also on the board after silencing Imus and its home crowd with a well-earned 79-73 win.

Leomar Losentes had for himself a breakout game with 20 points and was backstopped by Marlon Basco who posted a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double for the now 1-1 Warriors.

Paolo Pontejos paced the Bandera with 15 points. The founding team has now dropped its first two games in the new conference.
