It's UAAP champion vs NCAA contender in the Filoil Preseason quarterfinals
An old fire will be rekindled when top-seeded Ateneo de Manila University clashes with resurgent Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the quarterfinals of the 2018 Filoil Flying V Tournament.
The showdown between the UAAP champion Blue Eagles and the NCAA contender Knights headline the resumption of the tournament on Thursday, 7:00 PM at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Ateneo is fresh off a trip to Greece where they battled, and mostly won against, some of the top European youth teams. Thirdy Ravena, Isaac Go, and Matt Nieto will yet again stand at the forefront of their attack.
On a confidence-high of its own, however, is Letran which is nothing but happy to be back in the next round behind the leadership of Bong Quinto and JP Calvo.
The winner between Ateneo and Letran will then collide in the semifinals with the victor of the Far Eastern University-De La Salle University matchup at 4:30 PM.
In the other bracket, College of St. Benilde, which was a pleasant surprise as first place in the group stages, stands in the way of streaking University of the Philippines at 1:00 PM.
Whoever comes out on top there will then take on either San Beda University or Adamson University who meet at 2:45 PM.
