Harold Arboleda just couldn't miss - except for one free throw - in Paranaque's home stand against Cebu
Harold Arboleda was perfect from the field on Tuesday at the Olivarez College Gym in Paranaque.
That perfection was more than enough for the home team Patriots to gun down visiting Cebu, 81-73, for their second win in as many games in the 2018 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Anta-Datu Cup.
Arboleda began the game with two assists before dropping a long-range missile for an 8-2 start for the home team.
Chasing down a four-point deficit early in the third quarter, it was again by the former University of Perpetual Help star’s hands that Paranaque regained the lead and the momentum it would not relinquish until the final buzzer.
In the end, Arboleda had a career-high 27 points, going 5-of-5 from behind the line and 2-of-2 from within it. Interestingly, his only miss in the entire game was from the line where he went 7-of-8.
Backing him up was Ryusei Koga who scored 21 points of his own.
For the Sharks, Patrick Cabahug topped the scoring column with 29 points. With no answer for Arboleda, though, they remained winless after two tries.
In the first game, Pampanga notched its maiden win at the expense of Bacoor, 81-80.
Jong Baloria came up big for the now 1-1 Lanterns, especially in the endgame, with a total of 24 points.
Gab Banal paced the also 1-1 Strikers with 21 points to go along with eight assists, three rebounds, and three blocks.
