Bataan and Laguna are now streaking in the new season
After dropping their first assignments, founding team Bataan and newcomer Laguna are now streaking in the 2018 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
The Risers and the Heroes have now notched back-to-back wins at the expense of separate opponents last Friday at the Navotas Sports Complex.
In the first game, Bataan dealt the first defeat to Davao Occidental, 91-88.
Pamboy Raymundo fronted the attack with 21 points while Byron Villarias chipped in 11 markers of his own.
It was Villarias and Alfred Batino who sealed the deal in the Risers’ ascent to 2-1.
Now tied with them are the Tigers who were led by Emanuel Calo who had 25 points to his name.
Also now at 2-1 is Laguna who frustrated home team Navotas, 74-61.
Raymond Ilagan topped the scoring column with 18 points to go along with nine rebounds.
It wasn’t until the third, though, that the Heroes pulled away with a 21-10 quarter.
The frontcourt of Levi Hernandez, Kris Porter, and Rey Publico showed the way for the Clutch, all scoring 14 points.
