For the second game in a row, Ateneo de Manila University got the better of a national team of an Asian country in the 2018 William Jones Cup.
Riding the hot hands of Isaac Go and Thirdy Ravena, the Blue Eagles powered right through the Indonesian nationals, 89-78, on Thursday at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium in Taiwan.
Go was online from start to finish and wound up with 21 points, all but three coming from long distance.
Ravena also remained a force as the young UAAP champions are now streaking in the regional tournament. A day ago, they took down the Team B of the Japanese national team.
Down by three at the half, Ateneo went on a 35-point tear in the third quarter to grab both the lead and the momentum they would never relinquish.
Together, Go and Ravena outscored Indonesia, 20-18 in the same timeframe.
Filipino-Kiwi Patrick Maagdenberg and Ivorian reinforcement Angelo Kouame also added 12 points apiece for the now 3-2 Blue Eagles.
They try to stretch their streak on Friday up against LSU-Atletas on Friday.
