JONES CUP: Nieto twins get screen time on Taiwan TV
Mike and Matt Nieto, and the rest of Ateneo, just keep on making a name for themselves in Taiwan

Ateneo de Manila University is the youngest team to be playing in the 2018 William Jones Cup.

That hasn’t stopped them from making noise in the regional tournament, however.

From giving a good scare to defending champion Canada to downing a Lithuanian club team and from going on a three-game win run to Matt Nieto hitting a game-winner to take down the host country, the Blue Eagles have been quite the talk of the town in Chinese Taipei.

So much so that Matt and twin Mike got interviewed by Videoland TV, one of the leading broadcasting channels in Taiwan.

In the interview, the Blue Eagle brothers talked about being fraternal twins, being back-ups of one another on and off the court, and being proud of one another.

Yes, from the Philippines to Taiwan, people are getting to know and getting to love the Nieto twins.

In the end, the entire experience in the Jones Cup, in the eyes of Matt, is nothing but another reward to all the hard work they have been putting in. “It’s very nice to be recognized lalo na outside (the country). The feeling is really humbling kasi kahit sila, nakikita yung trabaho namin,” he shared.

He then continued, “We’re really happy na nasusuklian yung pagod namin dito.”
