MACAU --- Guangzhou gets back at the only team to beat them in the Super 8 tournament.

The Longs Lions took the title in Macau Sunday, surviving the Samsung Long Lions, 78-72, at the East Asian Games Dome here.

Guangzhou lost a 16-point lead and was only up two on the Thunders in the final minute. However, the Long Lions had superior composure and made the needed free throws down the stretch to keep Samsung at bay.

The Long Lions finish the tournament with a 4-1 mark, with the lone loss coming from the Thunders to end group play earlier this week. Guangzhou also beat the Blackwater Elite and the NLEX Road Warriors on their way to the title.

Ju Mingxin led the Long Lions with 25 big points followed by Zheng Zhun who had 13 points and seven rebounds.

For the Thunders, it was Lee Gwan Hee, a former PBA import for Phoenix, that came through, firing 34 points on 50 percent shooting.
